![]() | I felt like cheating because I introduced COSRX before the brand that opened the gate for proper skincare to me. First time I saw Hada Labo was when I mindlessly flipping through Japanese fashion magazine. This brand caught my eyes because they claimed to use water as its main substance and sold one bottle every two minutes. Sounds too good to be true, right? Afterwards, a friend recommended me to use Shirojyun one to brighten and hydrate my skin. Being curious, I bought one and it never leaves my vanity ever since.

Hada Labo Shirojyun Ultimate Whitening Lotion
My first Hada Labo product. First time using it I feel my skin smoothen and hydrated instantly. Too bad the effect doesn't stay all day but back then I couldn't be bothered so I don't put much thought into it. I think it does nothing to its whitening claim but I still like it. Even though it says lotion, its actually a toner. Clear liquid without any scent, which is a plus in my book. I kept repurchase this before I finally bought the Gokujyun.
Repurchase? No.
Hada Labo Shirojyun Ultimate Whitening face wash
I like every face wash from Hada Labo because they are so soft and never felt like they scraped the moisture off of my skin — something most face washes do. This one was the first face wash I tried. It does the job nicely and perfect for morning face wash.
Repurchase? Maybe.
Hada Labo Tamagohada Ultimate Mild Peeling Face Wash
I tried to incorporate proper face wash for makeup cleanse and this one was my go-to. It has microbeads which makes it very effective to clean makeup thoroughly while still soft enough to use on the everyday basis. This one kind of screwed up the term 'exfoliation' to me, because it made me think after using this then I'm done cleansing. While actually not.
Repurchase? Maybe.
Hada Labo Shirojyun Ultimate Whitening trial kit
Bought them on Ennichisai. I like the concept of trial kit to see if the whole set actually works for me. These babies worked just nicely but nothing more to their whitening claim. I think they are perfect for basic moisturizer but there are better products in the market.
Repurchase? No.
Hada Labo Gokujyun Alpha Ultimate Anti Aging trial kit
Bought them just because I saw them in a supermarket nearby years ago. I thought, why not? But the lotion stung and my skin felt as if it's on fire. I really don't like the sensation of the moisturizer either so I stopped using both of them and just use the face wash for travel purpose. Maybe I'll try them again when I hit my 30s. Hoping the second time is the charm!
Repurchase? Maybe in the future.
Hada Labo Gokujyun Ultimate Moisturizing Light Lotion (for Oily-Normal Skin)
See, this is why I never tried Gokujyun one before. It's so damn hard to find the one for Dry-Normal Skin! I just realized I bought the wrong one after I got home but still use it nevertheless. As expected, it's less hydrating but my skin felt the same smooth as ever so it's not really a dud. But I think people with oily skin would like it.
Repurchase? No.
Hada Labo Gokujyun Ultimate Moisturizing Face Wash
Holy Grail. I fell so hard for this because it feels so hydrating afterward, something I never really found in my previous face wash. It retains and injects moisture at the same time. A must try for people with dry skin. I'm on my third bottle now!
Repurchase? Yes! Yes! Yes!
Hada Labo Gokujyun Ultimate Moisturizing Lotion (for Dry-Normal Skin)
Finally bought the right one! And it performs so superbly especially as morning toner. It injects moisture into my skin and upon first drop I can feel my skin transformed to a more supple one which is attributed to its nano-sized hyaluronic acid. I can't convey enough love for this stuff. I love it so so much. On my second bottle now!
Repurchase? Until the last bottle available on this earth.

In all, I highly recommend Hada Labo for everyone who wants to try Japanese skin care or just lighter-no fuss skin care in general. The lotion is a must try, then the face wash for morning cleansing. There is other stuff I wanna try such as night moisturizer and anti-aging cream in the future. It has been a staple for me since its first arrival in Indonesia and I can see it will stay in my skincare regime for a long time.
